| GATO (30"x40" acrylic) means "cat" in Spanish. A friend of mine moved to Costa Rica and emailed me a snapshot he took of this crazy cat. It was hanging in this metal-grated, Spanish style, window. I liked the way the cat was positioned, between the curtains and the grating, so I couldn't resist painting it. I put my own "spin" on the picture by painting the ground with a tapestry effect.

FISH TANK 1 is one in a series of three paintings that can be lined up side by side or stand alone. I thought it would be fun to paint something with goldfish. When I was looking at the canvass I was trying to visualize how the whole painting was going to look. It dawned on me that the canvass, being rectangular and all, was shaped like a fish tank. Then I thought it would be cool to paint a fish tank in 3-D, so I did.
